A földieper tavasszal érő gyümölcs, mely eredetileg Ázsiából származik. A nagy szemű földieper az Amerikából származó erdei szamóca és a nagy méretű chileival való keresztezéséből vált olyanná, mint amilyennek ma is ismerjük az epret. Az eper számos vitamint (főleg C-, és E-vitamin) és ásványi anyagokat tartalmaz. 50 dkg eper már fedezi a napi C-vitamin szükségletünket. A földieper leginkább a vértisztító hatásáról közismert.
